Presentations for the Legislative Assembly of PEI
The June 3, 2015 speech from the throne outlined a commitment from government to review ways to strengthen the electoral system, representation and the role of the Legislative Assembly. During the consultation phase, the PEI Coalition for Women in Government made two formal presentations and one written presentation to to the Special Committee on Democratic Renewal. These presentations outline recommendations to increase gender and diversity in government, with a focus on proportional representation as a best practice for electing women.
